After winning prize, Indian expat in UAE ‘overcome with emotion’ after becoming Mahzooz millionaire mother

Having participated in the draw regularly, the 38-year-old mother of four believes she is contributing to a noble cause

Hameda, a 38-year-old Indian mother of four who has lived in Abu Dhabi, UAE for the past three years and works as a medical coder, won Dh1 million in Mahzooz’s 122nd weekly lottery draw on Saturday April 1, 2023.

It used to inspire Hamda to read stories about Mahzooz’s winners in the news. However, she never really considered participating until a friend suggested she do so eight months ago. Her intention was always to contribute to a noble cause, even when she started participating regularly. When Hameda used to participate in Mahzooz, she felt good about contributing a speck of luck to a winner for another Mahzooz participant.

Hameda looks back fondly on the day she discovered her victory. Due to her child’s football game on Saturday evening, she was unable to watch the live draw. But when she woke up on Sunday morning, a call from the Mahzooz team informed her of her win. At first, she brushed it off as a prank call. However, as the Mahzooz team continued to call throughout the day to inform her of her win, she began to realize it was true and asked her husband to check her Mahzooz account. “I’ve never won anything or participated in a raffle before, so this has been an incredibly pleasant surprise for me!” Hameda exclaims with excitement. “It feels like a dream come true, and I still can’t believe it.”

Hameda is still coming to terms with being a millionaire. When asked about her plans for the money, she excitedly shared, “I’ve been busy planning for my family’s future. My two children are interested in studying medicine and I also have two school-aged children who will benefit from this windfall. Of course, I want to share my happiness with them. Ever since I found out about my win, I’ve been overwhelmed with emotion. This opportunity is beyond anything I could have imagined. Mahzooz has truly changed my life and for that, I am forever grateful. This win will provide security for my family’s future.”

Hameda has made history as the first woman and fourth millionaire to claim the guaranteed Dh1 million prize under Mahzooz’s new game structure. With this structure in place for a month now, Mahzooz ensures that a new millionaire is crowned every week. While the prizes have been upgraded, the rules of participation remain unchanged. By purchasing a bottle of Mahzooz water for only Dh35, individuals can enter both the Grand Draw with a chance to win the top prize of Dh20 million and the new weekly Raffle Draw, which guarantees a lucky winner Dh1 million each week.

As part of the same 122nd Mahzooz draw, 24 other participants matched four out of five numbers and shared the second prize of Dh200,000, earning Dh8,333 each. 958 other winners matched three out of five numbers and received Dh250 each.

During the holy month of Ramadan, participants can expect to win different gold prizes, including 300g of gold next week.

During the 122nd Ramadan gold promotion, Abdulaziz won 200g of gold coins.
